Investigation A: TODAY’S CLIMATE SCIENCE

چکیده
Earth’s Climate System (ECS) employs an Earth system perspective. A view of the Earth system as seen from space is presented in Figure 1 of the Narrative. Examine the figure for evidence of the major components of the Earth system — atmosphere, ocean, biosphere, cryosphere (including ice sheets, sea ice, glaciers, and seasonal snow cover), and land surface. These components, or sub-systems, interact and determine Earth’s climate.

Uncertainty Investigation of Precipitation and Temperature Scenarios for the Sira Basin under Climate Change Impact
Results of assessment of the future climate change impacts is associated with some uncertainties. Considering the range of uncertainties increases reliability of the results. In this study, climate change impacts on daily precipitation, maximum and minimum temperature of Sira basin are assessed using LARS-WG model, for 2036-65 period. Accordingly, uncertainty of new emissions scenarios (RCP2.6،...
متن کاملImplications for the dynamic health of a glacier from comparison of conventional and reference-surface balances
Conventional and reference-surface mass-balance data from Gulkana and Wolverine Glaciers, Alaska, USA, are used to address the questions of how rapidly these glaciers are adjusting (or ‘responding’) to climate, whether their responses are stable, and whether the glaciers are likely to survive in today’s climate. Instability means that a glacier will eventually vanish, or at least become greatly...
متن کاملThe Second Is-enes Workshop on High- Performance Computing for Climate Models
What: Within the framework of the Infrastructure project of the European Network for Earth System Modelling (IS-ENES), more than 50 international developers and users of European Earth system models met to address the major issues facing today’s climate modelers, especially with regard to the efficient use of new supercomputer architectures. When: 30 January–1 February 2013 Where: Toulouse, Fra...
متن کاملInvestigation of wind induced wave climate close to the Koohmobarak Area, Gulf of Oman
Abstract Wind induced wave is of great importance due to its high energy. In this study wave climate in the Gulf of Oman close to the Koohmobarak area is investigated. Wave climate study is necessary for determination of long-term analysis of wave statistics as well as climate change effects in the study area. First, wave climate is study using both measured and simulated wave data close to th...
متن کاملPaleohydrology based on sedimentology on Dasht e Arzhan basin SW Iran
Paleo-climate reconstructions based on multi-proxy such as sedimentology is current in climatology investigation. In this way, National Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Science cored 960cm from Arzhan wetland SW of Iran than we have investigated of sedimentology. Primarily the core was measured on magnetic sensibility per 1cm and secondly was subsampled according to magnetic sensibilit...
